Sending Out Cards

Following up with clients and prospects via a personalized card campaign is incredibly useful and profitable, if you do it right.

They key to a good card campaign, is making your cards about the PROSPECT, not about your product or service.

Make them feel good about what they are doing, whether you know something personal about them (based on phone conversations or a personal meeting) or whether you’ve never met them, but are aware that they are going through a process of evaluating options one of which might be using your product or service.

Remember – it’s not about what you say, it’s about how you make them feel.  Everyone is tired of being marketed to, so make yourself different and FOCUS ON THE GIVE!

Of course, you can always use an automated system to follow up with clients to remind them to come in for periodic appointments (touching up their hair color, manicure, waxing, etc.) which is certainly a great idea.

But if you can incorporate non-selling messages, too – so much the better for you!

One of the hardest things about sending out direct mail card campaigns for the small business owner, is that they can be hard to organize and keep track of.  You either have to have a staff person dedicate time to this (do any of YOUR employees have extra time??) or outsource it, which can be expensive.
